Continue Wednesday
We had a nice lunch with June and Phyllis, Judy, Shelby, Donna, Barry, Shayla at O'Charley's. Now it is 7:00 and Jon and Jennifer and their family all but Luke have gone to the New Year Eve's Service at Highland Church. I am watching Luke and James is watching TV. I have finished eating for the day. I finished up with a piece of White Wine Cake that Jon's mom had sent to Byron. It was very good. But now off with the old and on with the new. Tomorrow I begin my journey to better health and healthier eating. I will weigh in the morning and go from there. My first goal is to lose 6 pounds by Valentine Day. That is 6 weeks. Wish me success.
Wednesday
I have started the day out with a trip to the Cracker Barrell. James and I took Isaac for his birthday. Now Jennifer and I are going down west to the bank and are going to meet June and Phyllis for lunch. More later.
Tuesday
A very busy Tuesday. I got up and went to school to meet Denver to get all of the stuff she had left when she quit work. I was there until about l2:00 and then me and her went to the Chop House for lunch. After that I came home and got stuff ready for supper. Byron and Matthew came over and Jennifer and Jon and the boys got back from North Carolina. After we ate supper we "talked" about dieting and the New Year. Byron is not starting his program until Monday the 5th. I am starting on the first day of the year. I just do a lot better if I have something like the first to begin. Jennifer and Jon are also starting on the 1st. More later.

Monday-Bad
I started to say it was a blue Monday but it wasn't blue just bad. I did really good at breakfast. My usual bacon, toast and hot chocolate. Then I started cleaning out my closet and worked until about ll:30 and decided I would go down the road and get some cokes and milk and the few groceries I didn't get on Saturday and the next thing I knew I was sitting in Ci Ci Pizza all by my lonesome eating Pizza. I sort of felt like it was the last supper before the New Year. Anyway I won't discuss how many pieces I ate but I ate my fair share.
Back to cleaning out the closet when I got back home and now I am finished with it. That was a big accomplishment.
I don't guess tomorrow will be any better because me and Denver are going to the Chop House for lunch. I am fixing barbecue for tomorrow night and we are having the big diet meeting. James asked were we having it before we ate or after. I said of course it will be after because it will be much easier to talk about it on a full stomach. I will surprise you I will really get with it on the first day of the new year. The pounds will just melt away. I can do it when I get my mind set.

Sunday
Boy I am just gonna have to quit eating out. I started out good again with my toast and hot chocolate with fiber and then after church we came home changed clothes and went to Pigeon Forge. We were going to stop at the Olive Garden and it was packed so we went to the Apple Barn and it also was packed so we went on toward Pigeon Forge and ended up at Calhouns. Of course I got the House Ale Steak, baked potato and house salad. I also ate a biscuit and a roll. And lots of tea. I guess it could of been worse but that was a lot of food. Maybe I can just skip supper again tonight.
We didn't have church tonight so I am thinking about cleaning out the closet or rather start cleaning out the closet. Jennifer and Jon and the boys will be back on Tuesday and she says we are really going to have to get down serious about this lifestyle changing eating program. I've done it before, I can do it again.

Saturday
Well I got off to an excellent start this morning. Had my 3 peices of Oscar Mayer bacon 35 calories per slice = 105, two peices of 40 calorie bread =80 with 2 tsp. canola margarine at 17 calories per tsp. =34 and a cup of sugar free hot chocolate at 50 calories per cup. I drink the hot chocolate so I can put Benafiber in it to keep me from having diverticlosis attacks. So I did very good for breakfast a total of 269 calories. I guess I need to cut the bacon back to 2 slices. Well anyway I was off to a good start. THEN;
I picked up my sister June to go out to lunch and to get groceries and I said where do you want to go for lunch. She said I would really like something spicy. So off to El Chico's we went. Of course one of my weaknesses is chips and salsa. I ordered a plate that had a burrito, a cheese enchilada and a chicken enchilada and a taco. I don't like the beans so I ordered double rice. I only ate half of my lunch but I am sure that "BLEW" my diet right out the window. After that I had two junior mints at 26.5 calories each for a totoal of 53 more calories. And they wern't even good. They were made with coffee. If you like coffee you would probably love them.
I don't plan on eating anything else tonight so maybe that will make up for such a failure today. Its bad to fail on the first day of trying. Oh well live and learn.

Before Picture
The picture taken for my profile was taken today. I will take new pictures and post them as I lose weight.
December 26, 2008
Christmas is now over and I am now making plans for the New Year. The New Year will bring on some changes since I will be retiring on January 30th. Of course the big plan for the new year is to lose some weight. An endless battle.
Over the past 40 years I have been on many diets most of them successful. But as usual I eventually gain back what I lose. Usually not all of it but most of it. Even today I am still about 50 pounds lighter than my heaviest weight. But I still have about 50 that I need to lose. Maybe not quite that much because now if I lose that much I look older. More wrinkled. So maybe I will set a goal of about 30 pounds. So I invite you to come along on another attempt to lose the weight I need to lose. I had planned to start on January 1st but there is no reason that I can't go ahead and start on December the 27th. So tomorrow I will start again. That will give me a 5 day start on the New Year. If you have any tips or ideas to share I will be glad to get them. I have always had more success if I keep a diary so I am going to use this blog as my diary this time. Wish me luck!!
